And if you shake her heart enough she will appear
Yesterday was nice and rainy. Stupid sun! Go away! *pout*

Snagged from thirteenlives

[1] Pick 12 TV shows.
[2] Then pick one of your favourite quotes from each show.
[3] Post the quotes in your journal.
[4] Have those on your friends list guess what the show is.
[5] Extra points for knowing the actor and character's name.
[6] Strike out the quote once it has been correctly identified

1. "You're like... a trained ape. Without the training." Guessed correctly as Firefly by x_starbuck!
2. "Not in the car, not in the bar, not in the house, not up your blouse, I cannot touch you here or there, I cannot touch you anywhere!" Guessed correctly as 3rd Rock from the Sun by pandalamp. And she got the character and actor as well! Huzzah! :D
3. "Nobel invented dynamite. I won't accept his blood money." Guessed correctly as House by thirteenlives. Double plus bonus points for knowing character and actor too! :D
4. "You helped me discover my potential. You wanted to see what I can do as much as I did, and now, you want it to stop." Again by thirteenlives as Heroes, and the actor and character as well.
5. "You pull me off my unicorn, you tear away my gossamer petticoats, and you put your Schooner deep inside my Rebecca." Guessed correctly as Sex & the City by polaris_86
6. "We can come by between classes. Usually I use that time to copy my class notes with a system of different colored pens. But it's been pointed out to me that that's, you know, insane." Guessed correctly as Buffy by snarkylightning. And bonus points for knowing it was Willow!
7. "You smell that? That's the smell of spring, and I love it. You know what I love to do in spring? I love to come out into the woods, to walk amongst the budding trees, to smell and taste the hint of renewal that hovers in the air like a heady perfume, and to listen to the song of the birds who have returned from their long sojourn south. And bury the people I killed during the winter."
8. "The phony pope can be identified by his high top sneakers, and incredibly foul mouth."
9. "Would I rather be feared or loved? Um... Easy, both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me." Show and character guessed correctly by anwariel!
10. " I don't trust the guy. I think he regifted, then he degifted, and now he's using an upstairs invite as a springboard to a Superbowl sex romp!" Guessed correctly as Seinfeld by treerad!
11. "Jesus! You're a dead woman, but you're acting like a dead baby!"
12. "My dad's third heart attack, he'd gotten so good at them, he decided to drive himself to the hospital because 'They won't let me smoke in the ambulance!' and 'You can't make a burger run.'"

6 on the TV quote meme is most definitely from Buffy, specifically Willow speaking. I want to say that she's talking to Giles about helping keep an eye on the magic shop when he's in England visiting the Council in season 5. I have no idea about the others, sadly. :(
Allee: ofelialady_lyca on June 10th, 2007 10:54 pm (UTC)
Correctamundo! Gotta love Willow. =D And don't worry about the others. I really don't expect anyone to get a couple of them. :)

i'm gonna guess #3 on the tv thing is from family guy, but that's just a hunch, and is #10 seinfeld? i'm really awful at these things :P

i read anna karenina and found it depressing, but there is something really delightful about reading classics and feeling really smart and able to comment on them, so it balances out. i definitely need to read most of the rest of your recommended books (i took down gone with the wind a few years ago)...i'll get on that after i finish my current summer reading list.
Allee: dwightpeenlady_lyca on June 10th, 2007 11:33 pm (UTC)
#3 is not Family Guy...but I do love that show, and I can totally see why one would think that it's from there.

And yep! Seinfeld is correct! #10 could only be Seinfeld, LOL!

Oh, Anna Karenina is most definitely depressing. I just read it in the middle of teen angst, where I thought depressing things were just too en vogue. LOL! Gone with the Wind...gawd I love that book! I read it in Florida, when my parents where at Disney World, and I opted to stay in the nice, air conditioned hotel room.

I LOVE acting all snooty and talking about reading the classics! Hehehehehe. XD
treerad on June 11th, 2007 09:28 pm (UTC)
i love teen angst! that's when i loved Catcher in the Rye and F Scott Fitzgerald (still do love them, but in a less angsty way) and thought i was SO misunderstood...i hope if i have children that they skip from age 11 right to college, i would so hate to parent myself at that age.

The comic adaptation of the 9/11 Commission is a lot more digestible.
Allee: dorkgaspardlady_lyca on June 11th, 2007 03:42 am (UTC)
Oh man! I can imagine! I will definitely be picking that up! :)

Allee: chantvoldemortlady_lyca on June 11th, 2007 04:11 pm (UTC)
Oh, I know you have heard it. I know you LOVE this show! Ummm...hinty hints....the character who said it appears to be kind of a jerk, but in all reality he is just kind of an idiot.
