Name five twelve effective uses of songs in movies or tv shows.

"Stripper" by Sohodolls, Gossip Girl (ep. Victor, Victrola).

Probably my favorite scene of season 1.

"Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon" by Urge Overkill, Pulp Fiction.

It was a toss up between this and "You Never Can Tell" by Chuck Berry. But John Travolta pep talk gives me LULz, so I went with this one.

"Rock Me To Sleep" by Jill Sobule, South of Nowhere (ep. That's The Way The World Crumbles).

The song starts at 22:00 in; but I would watch from 20:00, just to get the whole scene. Just a sweet song. Really adds to the feeling of them being young, in love, and freedom.

"Sex & Candy" by Marcy Playground, True Blood (ep. Scratches).

"Coconut" by Harry Nilsson, Practical Magic.
Click here. Sadly not able to embed. This scene is why I always ask myself, "Would I wear this to midnight margaritas?" when buying sleepwear.

"Goodbye To You" by Michelle Branch, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (ep. Tabula Rasa).

Normally I don't like song choices that are so on the nose, but I am always somehow affected when I watch this scene.

"1979" by The Smashing Pumpkins, Clerks 2.

Definitely a good choice by Kevin Smith, because that is such a good song for driving around at night.

"Morning Train" by Sheena Easton, Seinfeld (ep. The Bizarro Jerry).

Oh, Kramer. XDDD

"Le Belle et la Bad Boy" by MC Solaar, Sex and the City, (ep. An American Girl in Paris, Part Duex).

Perfect song for the lead up to the denouement in the finale.

"99 Luftballoons" by Nena , Grosse Pointe Blank.

Sorry, I know this song is about nuclear war. But every time I hear it, I think of disposing a body.

"I'm One" by The Who, Freaks & Geeks (ep. Dead Dogs and Gym Teachers).

Bill Haverchuck, I love you. You're so geeky, awkward, genuine, sweet...

"Why Can't I Fall In Love" by Ivan Neville, Pump Up the Volume. NSFW!

Sexy. Definitely sexy.

There are probably better, or more intellectual, choices I am forgetting. But these were off the top of my head (and what I could find online).

Going to see Inglourious Basterds again with John...RIGHT NOW.

if you like Clerks you might be amused by the video on youtube where they have some of the really dirty dialogue from the first movie dubbed over the Peanuts characters. There's something intrinsically very funny about Charlie Brown, Linus and them talking real filth (possibly the entire principle behind South park?)

Kramer can bring home the bacon AND fry it up in the pan. XD
