a little scary...
I have been browsing IMDb all morning, conversing with my fellow net nerds about Clerks II, Spiderman 3, etc. Well, one of the news links on the home page is to an article about how they are turning The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath into a film. Now, this has been one of my favorite books since I was fourteen. I have read it umpteen times. Now, you may be thinking, "Oh god. She's just upset that they would turn Sylvia Plath's work into a movie". Quite the contrary, I assure you. But they list Julia Stiles as the actress to play Esther Greenwood. Despite a disappointing turn in the remake of The Omen (I may just have thought her horrible since she is too young to be his mother, and the respectable wife of a diplomat), I still hold her in high acting regard. Yes, even Save the Last Dance didn't get me to hate her.

What is really getting to me, is that every time I read The Bell Jar, I picture Julia Stiles as Esther! How scary is that?!?! Has someone been reading my mind or something? I always thought, "Maybe I can just picture her being totally depressed or something", since also when I read Prozac Nation by Elizabeth Wurtzel (also a good book), I picture her too.
