Yeah, I know everyone has posted about this. Buuuuut...
Another thing stolen from telltale.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Sorry for the messy hair. It's really cold in here and had my hood up until I took that. :P

Yeah, I cried. I danced around the apartment. I tried to get Chloe (my roommate's cat FYI) to join in on the latter, but she didn't appreciate it. XD I heard fireworks go off. An amazing night.

This isn't the 'real' entry I promised earlier. It was laundry or blogging. I'm too lazy to do both. And I was out of underwear.

I thought John McCain's speech was very nice.

You already know my stance (neither one of them), but I feel obliged to congratulate my friends who voted for Obama and the democrats. See? I'm mature! I actually thought McCain's speech wasn't half bad either. I was glad he kept trying to keep people from booing. :) But, still congratulations.
Allee: percypoliticslady_lyca on November 5th, 2008 05:15 am (UTC)
Thank you! :) You know I'm a socialist, but I still felt the need to vote. But that's me.

And I know! About the booing I mean! Not classy!

*uses her Percy Weasley Politics icon like crazy before it's no long really applicable* XDDDD
theoryofgeek on November 5th, 2008 05:32 am (UTC)
I completely understand. I wasn't pleased with any independent candidates and Obama has this immigration stance that hits close to my heart, I hope you understand me not voting tonight. But again, I am very mature, and can congratulate a person.

And as I sit and think, I do have to say that as an activist, I think my voice will be heard when I write President Obama. Far more than it ever was with Bush. So, granted in my heart, I couldn't find it to vote (again that one issue is #1 with me), I don't think he'll be a bad guy. Does that make sense?

I'm going to be completely honest though--I don't agree with most of McCain's stances as a politician and you may boo me for this, but I don't think he seems like a terrible person outside of politics. And the booing was DEFINITELY not classy.

I noticed the people at Obama's crowd where he gave his speech, didn't once boo McCain!
Allee: percypoliticslady_lyca on November 5th, 2008 05:38 am (UTC)
I hope you understand me not voting tonight.
Definitely! Everyone has got to do what they feel is the right thing for them. :)

I don't agree with most of McCain's stances as a politician and you may boo me for this, but I don't think he seems like a terrible person outside of politics.
No! I totally feel the same way! I almost put this in my entry (but felt I was already rambling too much :P), but I really like and respect McCain. I mean, I didn't really like his campaigning. I thought a lot of it was unfair and dirty. But that being said, politics does bring out the uglier sides in all of us (at least a lot of the time), and now that it is all over, I think he will go back to be more rational. More of the middle-grounder that got Rush Limbaugh on his bad side. XD But yeah, I've always liked him. Not his politics, but he does seem like a good, decent person.
theoryofgeek on November 5th, 2008 05:52 am (UTC)
Thank you! I know a lot of people don't understand that. Because of the whole every vote counts thing, but that's exactly my point. It would've been my first time voting, too buuuut that issue is way too close to me.

Yeah, I thought it was really cool of him that he was capable of making fun of himself on SNL.

Sarah Palin's a different story. I think she's bad inside of politics and out, haha.
Allee: ICANHAVEITALLlady_lyca on November 5th, 2008 05:57 am (UTC)
His choice of Sarah Palin (obviously trying to appeal to the Hilary Clinton supporters) is the one time I am having a hard time forgiving him for. I am just going to chalk it up to, and this may sound awful, his being old and not really thinking things through. :P

But the thought of that woman as president... *shudder* I had enough teachers and authority figures that shared her beliefs, which messed me up enough. :P

*Icon not related. But it's Tina Fey, so it kinda counts with all the Palin talk. ^_^
theoryofgeek on November 5th, 2008 06:09 am (UTC)
Sarah Palin seems like she has a 24/7 stick up her butt and I fully believe she intended to somehow make a power play to get John out of the picture. Also, I wanted to say that he had to have something good in him, because I don't see any hate *outside* of the campaigns.

I LOVE TINA FEY! But I'm actually an Amy Poehler girl. I hated Baby Mama, though :(
Allee: GobArrestedDevelopmentlady_lyca on November 5th, 2008 06:12 am (UTC)
Sarah Palin has the crazy eyes. She really does.

Tina, Amy, both AWESOME! If polygamy were legal, I would seriously want to be married to both Amy and Will Arnett. And Will and Amy named their baby Archie! That is soooo cute! I never saw Baby Mama, but it's on my Netflix. So if I don't like it, I won't be as mad as if I had paid extra to rent it. :P
theoryofgeek on November 5th, 2008 07:06 am (UTC)
OH I KNOW LMAO!!!! I wish I could say I loved Baby Mama, but I got it for like 50 cents or so. We have a rental place here, it's like Blockbuster, but seriously--SERIOUSLY--that cheap. 99 cents after your first month for old movies, but $1 for new, but 50 cents your first month, and if you get so many of the purple stickers, you can get popcorn and a drink free, educational & kids movies are free.
theoryofgeek on November 5th, 2008 05:12 am (UTC)
On the cat note! I think my cat is a different political party than me LOL. When they said Obama won, he ran around the house VERY hyper. Granted, that's normal for him, he did it right at that time lol!
Allee: fishnightlightslady_lyca on November 5th, 2008 05:17 am (UTC)
LOLOLOL! Chloe must really love McCain... Because she usually loves me more than anyone else on the planet. I thought she would love to dance with me. XDDDDDDD
theoryofgeek on November 5th, 2008 05:32 am (UTC)
LMAO. Both our cats are opposite parties than us!!!
Allee: dwightwithgarbagethecatlady_lyca on November 5th, 2008 05:40 am (UTC)
Must be! To take a phrase from Randall Graves in Clerks 2, she's been "harboring an unrequited homosexual crush on me" for sometime (at least John -my roommate- thinks so), so I thought she would like to dance. ROFL!

*I almost typed out "ROLF". That's what almost happens when the trailer for Valkyrie is on TV (even though Tom Cruise doesn't have a German accent!
theoryofgeek on November 5th, 2008 05:53 am (UTC)
What is Valkyrie? *hangs head in shame* but LMAO at the Clerks quote!! Oh man, on the note of that, the guy I talked about in recent blogs [cough cunt cough] has been going to conventions a lot with Jason Mewes lately and all the girls who went to see [cough cunt cough] were complaining about him, but insanely happy when they met Jason! He seems really cool in person.
Allee: JDmagichatlady_lyca on November 5th, 2008 06:02 am (UTC)
It's a movie about one of the attempted assasinations of Hitler by one of his right-hand men. Even though Tom Cruise looks awful in it, I want to see it. It has other good actors, and I've only read/seen a little bit about this part of history.

How 'bout we call him "He Who Shall Not Be Named"? Yes, everything does relate to HP. XD And he sounds like a douche among douches. But yay about Mewes! I love how during An Evening with Kevin Smith he seems very shy and quiet. But when among friends he is ready to drop trou and do the Silence of the Lambs dance.
theoryofgeek on November 5th, 2008 06:06 am (UTC)
Oh no no! Jason is SO not quiet at those conventions, but he's cool as hell. Someone called him a diva at one of them and he said "Fucking mother fuckers pissing me off" LMAO. The chick posted the full report of hers on IMDb, buuuut my friends who met him also were saying how big of a sweetheart he is!! Yes, He Who Shall Not Be Named is good and you're right, he is one! Kind of reminded me of Rex Manning in Empire Records.
Allee: chwkennylady_lyca on November 5th, 2008 06:09 am (UTC)
Daaaamn! I wanna hang with Mewes!

Rex Manning?!?! EEEEEEEWWWW! I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
theoryofgeek on November 5th, 2008 07:02 am (UTC)
Yeah, just add that with a drug addiction and lying to his fans that he's "allergic to alcohol". As you know, I actually am and I know how it makes you react. He never had those reactions. SUCH an asshole.

Yeah, Mewes is awesome. The girl I'm talking about on IMDb said he even commented on her see-through shoes when she met him (I don't know her). But the other girls I do know that met him, had NOTHING, but sweet things to say. If I find out he's going to any conventions near you, I'll let you know. I started keeping up with conventions! Woohoo!

I have no sticker, as I registered absentee for college and haven't changed it since. *sadface*

I cried, too. I am seriously overflowing with joy.
Allee: Barack Obama for Presidentlady_lyca on November 5th, 2008 05:53 am (UTC)
The extra one I took was for you then. XD It was going to be a friend from another state who didn't like hers. I just need a reason for taking an extra one really. LOL!

I keep chanting "Go, go, go, gO-bama! GO-bama!" It's all crying or singing/chanting over here.

I'm incredibly happy right now, and actually proud of America.

McCain's speech was good. He was very gracious, and I was glad when he stopped people from booing. Fucks.

:D :D :D

Barack out with your cock out! :D
Allee: Barack Obama for Presidentlady_lyca on November 5th, 2008 06:17 am (UTC)
Seriously! I haven't felt this much hope in a long time.

McCain actually seems like a good guy. Now that all the campaigning and dirty tactics are over, I hope he goes back to that. And that Sarah Palin will return from the pit she emerged from never to be seen again.

Oh, I will. ;D

P.S. Kudos on the Dexter icon!
polaris_86: hokutopolaris_86 on November 5th, 2008 06:28 pm (UTC)
I wish I could show you a sticker but I'm no American! XD But I would have made the right decision if I was one. ;)
Pan: Scrubspann_cake on November 5th, 2008 08:43 pm (UTC)
They weren't giving out stickers at my polling place!! :((( I felt gipped.

I am SO PSYCHED about Obama!! I wore my Obama/Biden pin today to work. One of the girls who works with my mom is a bigtime Republican and McCain supporter and when she saw me with my pin I thought she would have an anerism. :P

I didn't see McCain's speech, I ended up going to bed.
Allee: flandersHPlady_lyca on November 6th, 2008 09:27 pm (UTC)
Those fudruckers! "Abortions for some, miniature American flags stickers for others!"

Aaaw! I wish I had an Obama/Biden pin. :(

His speech reminded me of why I used to like McCain. It was very magnanimous. :)

pandalamppandalamp on November 5th, 2008 08:59 pm (UTC)
I voted! I don't have a picture of me with my sticker, but I did and was very happy with the outcome! Even the two proposals here in Mi that I voted to get passed actually went through! This was like the first election that I've ever been pretty completely satisfied with the outcome. Horray for democracy! lol
Allee: LEGENDARY!lady_lyca on November 6th, 2008 09:29 pm (UTC)
Yay! Yeah, there was only one other state initiative that I really wanted to pass. And it did. ^_^

(Anonymous) on November 5th, 2008 09:14 pm (UTC)
from susan
Yay for voting!
Blah, I voted around 7 at night and they weren't giving out stickers. And I was in somewhat of a hurry to get there so I almost got myself hit by a bus. S-M-R-T! No exit pollers to mess with either (I really enjoying giving screwed up answers to surveys). It was really weird to go vote knowing that most of the races/ballots were already decided!
theoryofgeek on November 7th, 2008 07:47 pm (UTC)
...they threw out the indepedent votes in Texas...:(
