Well, he murdered Bill Shakespeare. - WHAT?! Oh...
Yay! The strike's over! I can post.

Although, I can't help but feel a little sad. I know a lot of people think this strike was very silly and pointless. First of all, I didn't strike because of the ad space. I pay for my account, and I understand that this is a business. I went on strike because of the PTB's decision to hide certain interests from their 'Most Popular Interests' list. Yes, I am bisexual. And I think it's awful for someone else to judge myself and other's lifestyle. Not only that, but words like 'depression'. I know Dr. LJ is not the best place to get help. But I still think it's important for people to acknowledge that it is a problem that a lot of people have. And simply knowing you are not alone can help. I mean, there is some crazy shit on the internet. But as someone who is an acquired taste, and quite a bit off, and who often feels rejected in social situations, the internet is a place where I can feel accepted. This may sound pathetic to some of you, but it's true.

So if you look down on me for thinking this was important, and you want to de-friend me, that's fine. I don't care if you went on strike or didn't. It's none of my business, plus I respect your right to disagree. And I certainly love all of you and would hate to lose our friendship. But if you don't want to talk to me anymore, I guess I have to say goodbye. I will be sad, do not doubt that. But maybe it should happen. I don't need anyone else looking down on me. Or thinking I'm stupid. I do that enough as it is.

Anyway. I went shopping and to dinner with asiswellknown this afternoon, which was awesome. I got a new dress and hat. "Ivanushka, I have a new church hat..." And the dress was a junior's large, so I am losing weight! Yay! But I hate being at that weird age where it's hard to find clothes that are neither too young nor too old. Like, I have black boots with skulls on the front. I probably am too old for pirate boots, but I don't care. They're fierce, bitches! XD

Okay, it's poll time. She and I had a debate on which was a better dessert. I say pie, and she says cake. Yes both are delicious, but I feel pie is a superior culinary delight. What do you think?

Poll #1158415 So what's your take on it?

Pie? Cake? Or death?

Pie is better! I go on first and clean the hair!
Cake is better! I leave the hair silky and smooth!
I'll have the chicken please.
I believe I ordered the vegetarian. -Ah yes, here we go Mr. Hitler...you Nazi shithead

Billy Madison AND Eddie Izzard quotes?!?!

that sucks!
OMFG! That rules!
I'll tell you who stole those lunches! That damn Sasquatch!

I select invisible option #6:

Pie AND cake.

When we do our roadtrip thing, you better bring a pie, lady!

Will do, chickee-poo! I'll try and think of a pie to dedicate to Twilight. =D

How about the "I want to ravish Edward Cullen's sexy rock-hard vampire body and take his fictional virginity" pie?

It would involve cherries. And cream.
And chocolate.

Lots and lots of chocolate. *sigh*

I totally agree with you on the strike. I didn't post or comment Friday because of it.

And they're comfy! Boots that are fierce AND don't hurt my feet...Yeah they pretty much rule.

Awesome! I always feel the need to buy some yellow clothes and such whenever spring rolls around. :)

i have never owned anything yellow in my life, but i found this vintage-y, navy, ruffly dress at cato and i HAD to have it (ew, dropping $40 i dont have, but STILL), and i thought the yellow would be a fun way to dress it up for easter.
i love color. haha

i had pie after replying to this entry.

I love that I "accidentally" did the strike too, because I happened to be on spring break and didn't get online to post, lol. But I think the principle of the thing is important too, no matter if you have a paid account or whatnot. It is supposed to be a "community" here on 'Ol Ell-Jay, and you made a lot of good points. So I'm still with ya, girl! :D

Also, PIE IS THE BESSSSTTT!!! I can't believe it only has 2 votes! XDDDD

Well, thank you for saying so. I try not to be preachy and such, but I had to say something. Had to be a little bit of a loud mouth. XD

SERIOUSLY! Thank you for voting! And not just for agreeing, but I am starting see that apparently everyone has gone crazy.

Congrats on the skinny clothes! I put on a pair of pants my cousin gave me from before she got skinny, and the tag said size 10 (I've been buying 14s lately) and I almost wet myself with joy when they fit (kind of...they have a high-ish waist that was a big snug, but I was just wearing them to church, so I dealt with the snug...the important part was that they fit my butt and thighs).

I hate the dressing thing though! I like some of the styles that are either for skinny people (my favorite styles are the ones that look best on people who are stick thin and look awful on everyone else) or look youngish, but I realize that I can't pull them off. I'm struggling to find that middle ground too. I'm looking for a sundress that I like but doesn't a) look bad, b) look young, c) cost more than $40, and that search has been fruitless so far. Stupid skinny bitches...in my next life I will be thin and have thick, straight hair and will have social skills.

And I feel more accepted in the internet too. Strike power!

Sorry this got so long and rambling. Your post made me happy today :)

When jeans are too snug in the waist region, I still say they fit. If you have a rather volumous top, then they're perfect! :P

And I hear ya. I love the whole business shorts with leggings thing that's been going on. But even when I was thinner, I have short legs that are rather pudgy. *le sigh* So I can't pull off that look.

But I loooove sundresses. So even though they do tend to accentuate my stoutness, I wear them anyway. In my next life I will be a tiny sprite of a woman, with curly (but manageable) hair, and social skills as well.

Okay, I just gotta quote Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back now. "Norma Rae like a motherfucker." Strike power!

Nice quote

the crowd at the bottom.
