I look into the mirror & it's as black as night, I see it fall to pieces as my heart ignites
Last Friday's fannish5:

In no particular order...

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Andrew: Think your little witch buddy's gonna stop with us? You saw her! She's a truck-driving magic mama! And we've got maybe seconds before Darth Rosenberg grinds everybody into Jawa burgers. And not one of you bunch has the midi-clorians to stop her.
Xander:You've never had any tiny bit of sex, have you?
Anya: The annoying virgin has a point.

So maybe I am the only one who liked the sixth season. And I loved Andrew. I am still in the denial of the fact that he was totally in love with Warren. If he can make Star Wars references while facing a tortuous death doled out by dark!Willow, he has my heart. And ya gotta love snarky Xander and the always pragmatic (if somewhat blunt) Anya.

30 Rock
Liz Lemon: [speaking on the telephone] Hi, my name is Liz Lemon and I received flowers from your shop tonight, and I can’t tell who they’re from… No, no, I did read the card, but it’s not signed… No, I’m not with so many men that it’s impossible for me to guess… Well, that is just… Oh, well, you know what? I found the card, actually, and they’re from your mom, so tell your gay mom I said thanks!

I think this counted as dialogue, even though we don't actually hear the other person on the phone. Hehehehe...Liz Lemon being mean. XD But it sounds like the flower shop person was being a judgemental douche.

Stargate Atlantis
Sheppard: This is creeping me out.
McKay: Yeah, it reminds me of an old episode of Batman, actually. Catwoman used a drug to put a spell on Batman, make him fall in love with her. Ended up doing all sorts of evil things for her. Kind of a turn-on, actually. It was Julie Newmar in the catsuit...
Sheppard: Eartha Kitt was Catwoman.
McKay: Not till season three.
Sheppard: Really?
McKay: Yeah, you didn't know that?

Well, this bit is McShep, so of course it's one of my favorite bits of dialogue. But I love that even though John is totally BMOC, he is still obviously a total dork. And I love that he and Rodney can share in their geek-itude. And even though they totally are over the moon about each other, they can talk to each other like horny fanboys. ^_^

Brian: That's chaos theory. The belief that the future is in fact a mathematically predictable preordained system.
Daisy: So somewhere out there in the vastness of the unknown there's an... equation for predicting the future?
Brian: An equation so complex as to utterly defy possibility of comprehension by even the most brilliant human mind, but an equation nonetheless.
Tim: [in dawning realization] Oh my god...
Brian: What?
Daisy: What?
Tim: I've got some fucking Jaffa Cakes in my coat pocket. [They all cheer.]

Well, like a Joss Whedon show, Spaced is a fount of awesome dialogue. This is just one of many gems. It is a great embodiment of the comic misdirection that Spaced was so good at.

The 10th Kingdom
Virginia: I have a hard time trusting people. I just never wanna jump unless I'm sure somebody's gonna catch me.
Wolf: Oh, I'll catch you. And if I miss for any reason, I'll sit by your bedside and nurse you back to health.

Oh, let me have ONE sappy thing on my list! XD

Fred Meyer didn't have Big Bang Theory season 1 on DVD! Boo, those whores! And it didn't help that the guy working there looked at me like I was crazy when I asked about it.

My parents were nice enough to take me out to dinner Saturday night, I wanted to try non-sick food for the first time in a week. So far so good... *crosses fingers* Anyway, my mom brought up The Office! =D And she started stamping her and myself as characters, LOL! She says she's Kelly because she talks too much. I didn't have the heart to tell her she's actually more of an Angela. But she said she thought I was Pam. While I was highly complimented, I know I would probably be a love child of Ryan and Kelly (if they had one). XDDD After dinner I stayed at my parents' house for a couple of hours because Fright Night was on cable. Chris Sarandon and Roddy McDowell, I heart you.

The last episode of SGA did not have enough Rodney! Of course, I want every minute of the show to have him in it. XD But the hot chick had my name! Yay! I just hope she spelled it the RIGHT way (A-l-l-i-s-on).

And now a fandom meme swiped from krys33:
Pick 10 characters from as many fandoms as you wish.
Answer 18 questions. Drabble responses are very welcome, too.
Bonus: Name the meme pairing you like best and least.
Double bonus: Write a fic about either or both, featuring the situation from the meme.

1. Dwight Schrute (The Office)
2. Liz Lemon (30 Rock)
3. Rodney McKay (Stargate Atlantis)
4. Sheldon Cooper (The Big Bang Theory)
5. Allison Cameron (House M.D.)
6. Willow Rosenberg (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
7. Chuck Bass (Gossip Girl)
8. Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter)
9. Perry Cox (Scrubs)
10. Kaylee Frye (Firefly/Serenity)

1. Describe the children of #3 and #7? Are they good parents? (Rodney McKay & Chuck Bass)

Oh dear god. I can't even...wow. I think they would be awful parents together. If they had children with different people it could definitely work. But not with each other.

2. Describe #5 and #1's first kiss. (Dwight Schrute & Allison Cameron)

3. How would #2 react if #6 is pregnant with #10's baby? (Liz Lemon, Willow Rosenberg & Kaylee Frye)

Liz would probably be amazed that such a thing were possible. But be happy for the two of them.

4. How does #8 convince #7 to go with him/her on a date? (Luna Lovegood & Chuck Bass)

I don't think it would be hard for Luna to convince Chuck to go on a first date, but getting a second would be much trickier.

5. Where would #9 and #6 go for their honeymoon? How is #4 going to sabotage their honeymoon? (Perry Cox & Willow Rosenberg, Sheldon Cooper)

Paris maybe. I think it would be somewhere romantic, but still a little practical. And Sheldon would come up with some complicated, a death ray maybe.

6. #6 is in love with #1. #3 confesses his/her love to #6. Whom would #6 pick? Does #8 think s/he made the right choice? (Willow Rosenberg & Dwight Schrute, Rodney McKay, Luna Lovegood)

I think Willow would pick Rodney over Dwight. They're both nerds, but I think Willow would be more taken with Rodney. Although, I think Dwight is slightly more demonstrable with his affections. And I think Luna doesn't care either way, as long as Willow is happy.

7. #5 and #2 must pretend to be a married couple. Why? (Allison Cameron & Liz Lemon)

Ummm...to get Chase off of Allison's back? Or maybe so Liz can adopt a baby.

8. #10 is moving in with #9. What do they fight about the most? (Kaylee Frye and Perry Cox)

I think Perry would snark about Kaylee's constant optimism. But he would secretly enjoy it, most of the time anyway.

9. How will #4 prove his/her love to #1? (Sheldon Cooper & Dwight Schrute)

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!! Something involving one of their shared nerdy loves.

10. #7 and #4. Love at first sight? (Chuck Bass & Sheldon Cooper)

Not at all. No.

11. What would #2 give #9 for Valentine's Day? (Liz Lemon & Perry Cox)

An engraved flask.

12. Under what circumstances could #3 and #5 have a happy end? (Rodney McKay & Allison Cameron)

I actually think that could work. Maybe if Cameron took over Keller's place in Atlantis.

13. What would #8 like to change about #10? Does number #10 approve? (Luna Lovegood & Kaylee Frye)

I don't think Luna would change a thing. These two are definitely kindred spirits.

14. #2 and #7 are together. Who is more protective of the other? (Liz Lemon & Chuck Bass)

If it was more than a one night thing, like if he had a thing for her like he does with Blair, I think he would be more protective.

15. Who is first going to say "I love you", #1 or #9? (Dwight Schrute & Perry Cox)

16. Describe #10 and #4's perfect romantic outing. (Kaylee Frye & Sheldon Cooper)

Just having dinner, discussing mechanics and space travel. And then Kaylee kissing Sheldon to shut him up. :3

17. Who suffers from pre-wedding jitters, #3 or #8? How does bridesmaid/best man #10 soothe them? (Rodney McKay & Luna Lovegood, Kaylee Frye)

Rodney would definitely be nervous. But I think Kaylee's sunny honesty would help get him down the aisle.

18. #6 is a secret admirer. What presents will they make the wo/man of their dreams? (Willow Rosenberg)

Just be their friend. Go out of her way to do nice things for them.

Favorite Pairing: Chuck Bass/Luna Lovegood
Least Favorite Pairing: Perry Cox/Dwight Schrute

This is sad, but I spent last night at my parents' house. I went over in the afternoon so my mom and I could go through my clothes and figure out what to keep, what to donate, and what to store. I stayed to watch Real Time with Bill Maher, and couldn't stop shivering. My mom is paranoid and took my tempurature. I had a 101 degree F fever, so she wanted me to spend the night. It was easier to just do it than fight with her. Besides, True Blood premiered last night on HBO, and this way I could watch it right away, rather than waiting for it to be put online. I really liked it. I read the first three books in the serires that it's based on. I should really finish it someday.

D: Silly Fred Meyer! You should have educated the salesman about Big Bang Theory. He would've thanked you later.

I think Sheldon/Dwight just became the most awesome thing I've ever heard. HILARIOUS.

Also, I'm loving the idea of Kaylee/Cox. I don't even know why. ;)

Hehehe. ME TOO! I am tempted to submit an "I ship it" secret of them to fandomsecrets, but now it's not really a secret. LOL!

I knew I couldn't be the only one!!!! =D

How was True Blood?? I read the first book way back in the day...is the show as charming and oddly funny as the book was?
Allee: balletdancervampirelady_lyca on September 9th, 2008 03:05 pm (UTC)
I really liked it. It's not exactly what I was expecting, but definitely worth watching. There were really funny moments, and some really sexy ones as well. ;D I think Anna Paquin makes a great Sookie.
