We're separating, consciousness is fading. Are you thinking that it's me you're fooling?

NFPC - The Artist

You perceive the world with particular attention to nature. You focus on what's in front of you (the foreground) and how that fits into the larger picture. You are also particularly drawn towards the colors around you. Because of the value you place on nature, you tend to find comfort in more subdued settings and find energy in solitude. You like to deal directly with whatever comes your way without dealing with speculating possibilities or outcomes you can't control. You are in tune with all that is around you and understand your life as part of a larger whole. You are a down-to-earth person who enjoys going with the flow.

I made Buttermilk Chess Pie last night. And subsequently, I am now dreaming about how I am going to devour a slice (or two) when I get home. I was lazy and bought premade frozen crust though. *is ashamed* But I really wanted to bake (something easy) yesterday. It's been raining the past couple of days (YAY!), and it feels a lot like Fall. I don't think it's going to last past Thursday though. But Fall always makes me want to make Fall-y food. And since I couldn't find any easy recipes, I went with Buttermilk Chess Pie. And for some reason, I didn't feel like chocolate. I know, I know. I'm shocked too. I am just gonna say that since this type of pie was popular in the days when people made their own butter, the olden days, which makes me think of Pilgrims, which is Thanksgiving-y, and therefore this is an Autumn dessert. XD

Got two hours of sleep last night. WTF, body?!?!?! I only had a forty-five minute nap earlier. That should not be enough to disturb night time sleep that much. It maybe because I am kind of stressed about the move. Not so much the money anymore (my credit score is going go down the crapper for a bit); but the moving of all my stuff. I have a lot of shit. And I really think I am ready to part with a lot of it, stop being such a pack rat. It's just the length of time it's going to take intimidates me. I think I am going to move my essentials (bed, laptop, TV, alarm clock, etc.) over this weekend or early next week; and then just go over to my parents' house after work for a couple of weeks and slowly clean, toss stuff I don't need and take what I do.

It will be a slow process though. I need my mom to help a little (because of my back). But my aunt Lola's family is coming for a visit a couple of weeks from now, so she'll be busy. And I am going to Forks with bombshell_chic for a few days in mid-September (EEE!!! SO CLOSE!!! =D). Luckily my parents don't have any immediate plans for the room, and say I don't have to rushrushrush. My mom actually sounded sad that I was moving. Like, "Do we really drive you that crazy? If you're so stressed, why are you moving?" Ummm...I'm 23. Of course you drive me crazy. I've put this off long enough. It's only 3 minutes away. She moved away (across the state) like a month after she graduated high school. Granted she moved in with her brother, but still. And it's not the living away that stresses me out. It's all the prep. :P She knows how lazy I am! LOL! Still, I fear that she is going to make this whole thing as hard as possible. :(

Stop making me envious of you! LOL!!!!

Take lots of pics! So sad that they're all married. *pause* Do not tell anyone I said that. XD

Aw!

I will. I'm sad they're married. Taylor and Isaac met their wives at concerts. That's the dream!
Allee: houserockstarlady_lyca on August 20th, 2008 04:15 pm (UTC)
Holy shit! Really?!?! I am going to have to go to every Panic, Fall Out Boy, Death Cab, Rooney, etc. concerts that I can!!!

It's about 3 weeks til we meet!! YeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaar!

Did you get the babbling email I sent over the weekend? LOL! I plan too much. I scheme, actually. Girl's gotta have a hobby.

Allee: Motherfuckalady_lyca on August 20th, 2008 04:25 pm (UTC)
I did! Sorry about not replying. Hotmail is being a bit of twat lately, at least to me. :P

And since you insist on bringing me something, just whatever you think I'll like. I like candy, I like tea, I like soap. Whatever. :)

I can pick you up anywhere you'd like. Just let me know. I will try and e-mail you my phone number, in case the bus is late or something. If I had known I would have my own place at this time, you totally could've stayed with me. :( I'm sorry.

And I totally endorse the way you've planned! I am totally willing and able to just go with the flow. I'm glad somebody in this is a planner though! There are somethings I have to meticulously plan (or scheme, as you more accurately described it), so I totally understand. XD

But yeah, I am all for avoiding the super horny (over Edward of Jacob) Twi-moms. I mean, I can smack a bitch if need be. But the more we avoid them, I think the better.

That tears it! You're getting Vegemite! LOL! Just kidding, wouldn't do that to ya!

Okay, so I have your phone number to stalk you uhm I mean to call if need be. And if you're happy to go along with my madcap ideas, that's cool. Jane is pretty durn easy-going. Just don't give me too much power or I'll turn into a megalomanic trip Nazi! hahaha kidding!

And I agree- the more Twi-Mom free we can be that weekend, the better for our sanity!
Allee: Motherfuckalady_lyca on August 21st, 2008 04:53 pm (UTC)
Hehehe. I would turn the package of Vegemite into a piece of "found art", and have it displayed in my bedroom. XD

Hehehe. We are definitely making you the brains of the operation. The only thing I'll say is that me doing the rainforest hike all depends on how my back feels that day. But I will be happy to drive you guys there, and sit in the car or hotel room, reading Archie comics or something. XD

P.S. I think we need to get an LJ icon that says, "Gone to Forks, BRB" or something.

BTW, what is buttermilk chess pie?
Allee: coca-colalady_lyca on August 20th, 2008 04:27 pm (UTC)
It's kind of a custard-y pie. Not too sweet, but still a little decadent.

This is pretty close to the recipe I used. I have a huuuuuuge pie book with like 300 recipes. :P

Damn. I need an icon that expresses, "Mmmm...foooood." LOL!

I'm pretty sure I have it on record somewhere that you promised to make a pie for the roadtrip. How about a creation called Vampire Baby Gravy- crushed cherries and egg custard and cream.

Dude. Sometimes I gross myself out!! LOLOLOL!
Allee: kelsocakelady_lyca on August 21st, 2008 04:54 pm (UTC)
Oh yes! When I was going through my whole Waitress phase. LOL!

Ewwwww!!!! LOL! God that scene was...graphic.

I am jealous of your road trip. :( Not because I'm a Twilight fan (I couldn't make myself finish the first book, lol), but because I want to go on a road trip with you!

I can imagine us meeting and then jumping up and down and screaming for a good 5 minutes. XD
Allee: edmundlady_lyca on August 20th, 2008 07:18 pm (UTC)
We will just have to a road trip! Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow. But SOME DAY! ROAD TRIP OF DOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!

*/teh crazy*

We would have to play Neil, Will Smith, Spice Girls, etc. really loudly. Because everyone else on the road wants to hear it too. And of course they want to hear us singing along at the top of our lungs. Oh, and they want to see our wicked car dance moves. XD

Our first meeting!squeeage will undoubtedly deafen everyone in the nearby distance. LOL!

Chess pie is a popular dessert in the southern U.S. in particular. My dad's family is from the south and I can remember eating chess pie when I was a little kid.
Allee: houserockstarlady_lyca on August 20th, 2008 07:19 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I had never heard of it until I bought this enormous book of pie recipes, but now chess pies are among my favorites. Super simple to make. And yummy. :)
